A little bit of colouring!
My friend Andrea came over a few weeks ago and we did some colouring. I stamped out this image, it was one of her stamps and for the life of me I can't recall the company, but I just LOVE this girl!! She totally reminds me of Kylie, the daughter of some friends of mine.
I coloured her with my pencil crayons and odorless mineral spirits, and I have no idea what I am going to do with her yet, but absolutely love how she turned out! Had to share!
Have a fantastic day!

Multiple Card Week...
September is a super busy month, a TON of birthdays, (including mine :) !!), our anniversary, school starting, vacation..where to find time to create the oodles of cards I need to make!!! I have been busy colouring the last couple of nights, one with my good friend Angie who is always ready to colour! I had a couple thank you cards to make for my boys' daycare providers, Ben is moving up to the next level (AAAHH, my baby!), and Malcolm is leaving completely as he starts Grade 1. I didn't get a picture of Ben's thank you card, it was really sweet too. Oh well, can't share them all!
But here is the card Malcolm will be giving to the great ladies that have taught him so much over the last couple of years:
Surprise, surprise... orange and dinosaurs....I know, no surprise really!!! I embossed the Greeting Farm image with black ink and clear powder, than coloured it with chalk and distress inks. And I love my EK Success dinosaur punch.
Next up is my niece's 10th birthday card. I popped it in the mail this morning, hopefully it makes it to Winnipeg in time!!
Love this High Hopes stamp! I coloured her in with my pencil crayons and mineral spirits. There is both Creative Imaginations paper and Basic Grey, some Kaiser pearls, Prima flowers, and a Martha Stewart edger punch.
A bit hard to see but I also added a bunch of sparkle using my clear star gel pen. My niece loves horses, she has a couple as well as a couple miniature ponies. I really wish they all lived closer!! Happy Birthday!!!
I have lots more to create!! FIL, SIL, my 2 boys, my anniversary, birthday invitations, and still manage to put together some layouts for SGD!!! Wow,what am I doing at work? Oh yeah, paying for my hobby!!
Have a splendid day!!

Sweet Stampavie!

Really love this stamp "Sweet Dreams" by Stampavie, found at SGD. So so sweet. I coloured her a while ago with pencil crayons and mineral spirits (my first attempt!). Finally made her into a card! I used my script embossing folder by Cuttlebug with some pale pink vellum for the background.

Make Today a Play Day!
Wouldn't it be nice if EVERY day was a play day??!! My boys would love it, well actually for them right now, every day pretty much IS a play day!!
I coloured up this image a while back and just recently turned it into a card. It is up on display at Scrappin' Great Deals. The image is a High Hopes stamp, coloured with my pencil crayons and mineral spirits. The sentiment is from Daisy Bucket. Some Fancy Pants and LYB (I think!) paper, Bazzill cardstock, and Making Memory Solid Eyelets, and brads.
Have yourself a play day too!!!

Miles & Miles of Reptiles
Okay, better late than never!!! Here is my last layout I did with Scrappin' Great Deal's August Scrapbooking Kit.
It's a double spread, harder to photograph and post!! (Click on the image for a closer look!)
I added some orange cardstock to the kit, and used some felt Thickers from American Crafts, and some Tiny Type by Cosmo Cricket. Some more stamping, I made my own lizard border, stamped some images on Neenah paper and coloured with my pencil crayons and mineral spirits. This was a fun layout to do. I think it really shows Malcolm's love of reptiles!!
This layout was removed for publication in the 2011 spring issue of Canadian Scrapbooker, but it is back now!!! :)
I hope you had a great holiday weekend!! Gotta love a short work week!! Stay cool! :)

The Pirate Princess....

Our niece turned 3 last week..HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Anna is just so fiesty and sassy, she lights a room up! I coloured up the Strawberry Pirate from Kraftin' Kimmie's stamp line because the image reminds me of Anna; only I called it the Pirate Princess because that is what Anna declared herself to be one day last winter.
Lets see..stamped on Neenah with Memento ink, coloured with my Derwent pencil crayons, blended with mineral spirits, used some Bo-Bunny Love Bandit paper, Bazzill cardstock, Imaginese flowers, unknown pink pearls, chipboard number coloured with pink glittery paint.

CREATE...a fun little project.

The girl image is a Greeting Farm stamp, I think it is called Ebony, and she is just as sassy as red headed Anna is in real life!!

Have a paper crafty day!! And CREATE!!!

Happy Belated Birthday!!
I did not forget my SIL's birthday, I was just delinquent in getting her present and card to her. Here is her card, (which I didn't post earlier because I didn't want her to see it!!):

I used a cute VW image from Stampavie. I knew as soon as I saw the stamp that I had to use it for her birthday card. I used my new favourite colouring technique: pencil crayon and mineral spirits. Really loving it!! I mounted the image on some Bazill cardstock, used some ribbon from Michaels, some little brads; I embossed the cardstock as well.
Here is a close up of the coloured image:

My New FAVE Media!!

Pencil Crayon and Mineral Spirits. LOVE LOVE LOVE the technique. These two images were my first attempts using mineral spirits as a blending tool and did I mention that I LOVE the results??!!

Sheila at Scrappin' Great Deals has been contemplating stocking pencil crayons and mineral spirits in the store. I hope she does, it is a technique I think that *GASP* rivals COPICS!!
