Welcome to the CardMaker and The Paper Loft Blog Hop!

Today the CardMaker Designers and The Paper Loft Designers will be showing you some wonderful projects featuring papers from The Paper Loft. Thank you for joining us on the hop!! If you are following along, you should have arrived from the oh so creative Noelle McAdams blog!

Here is my card, featuring papers from the Truly Scrumptious line. The sentiment is from the Gear Head accessory sheet Enjoy Life...love those sheets!

I used the 3D flowers Sizzix die for the flowers, the MFT flourish vine die for the foliage, a Kaiser Craft Stamp, Prima pearls, and a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis die. All the edges were distressed and brushed with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink for a vintage feel.

Make sure and comment on each of the blogs in the hop! One winner will be randomly chosen to win a $25 Gift Certificate from The Paper Loft!  The winner will be chosen on August 31st at 9pm CT and announced on The Paper Loft Blog on September 1st.

The very talented Mae Nazareth is next on the hop!!! Thank you so much for popping in and leaving me a comment!! Good luck!!!

Walk off the Earth

My hubby loves music. LOVES it.  Loves going to concerts, listens to CDs and on his Ipod as often as he can.  He recently took Malcolm to his first concert.  Downtown.  On a Friday night.  This made me very nervous.  Yes, it is downtown London, not downtown Detroit.  But still, stuff happens!  Fortunately, nothing happened, they had a great time and I spent the night fretting for naught.  Here is a layout I made for Malcolm.  They had VIP passes and got to meet the band "Walk Off The Earth", back stage.  Very exciting!!

The layout is based on The Paper Loft's February Sketch challenge!!  Play along and you could be their guest designer for April 2014!!!  What a great opportunity!!!  More details HERE!!! And here is the sketch:

You have a few more days to submit your project!!  Good Luck!!

Dinosaurs ALIVE!!

Happy Friday!!!  Here is another layout that I did for my Guest Designer Stint over at The Paper Loft!! It was up on their blog on Monday!  (The blog lists the product I used from The Paper Loft!)  I also used a fantastic Crafters Workshop stencil to get the two toned "scales" effect on the background.  I used distress ink with clear embossing powder.  I then cut out the honeycomb pattern to make it look like it was "tore" open by claws!  Well, that was what I was aiming for anyway!!  My Malcolm sure was into Dinosaurs, and the Waterloo Children's Museum had a great exhibit there in 2008.  He was thrilled and terrified at the same time!!  Some of those dinos sure looked real!!!

Thanks for looking!!

Paper Loft July Guest Designer!!

I am so excited to be The Paper Loft's July Guest Designer!!

I LOVE their paper and accessory sheets!!  Here is one of my layouts, titled "3".  It features a photo of my youngest son, Benny.  How adorable is he?!!

I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil on the background paper along with some white PanPastels, then started layering the paper & accessories.  I was totally inspired by this layout by Melinda Spinks.  I punched out circles of paper and scattered them around the photo, popping some up with foam dots.  This technique complements the dappled sun peeking through the trees in the background of the photo.  You can have a look on The Paper Loft blog today to see the exact papers & accessories I used!!  Here is a close up:

Thanks again to the fantastic team at The Paper Loft!!
